Instead of shopping for stockers, bins and boxes, create storage out of things you already have.

Here are some ideas:

  • Old jars can be used for storage of screws, nails and other small items.
  • Pegboards are great because you can see everything instead of rummaging through the drawers for tools. If
    you want, you can draw the outline of the tools on the pegboard. That way, you can tell at a glance if one is
    missing.
  • Remove most of the handle from an unused metal bow rake, drill a pilot hole through the remainder and screw
    it to the wall. It’s perfect for hanging your gardening tools.
  • Old metal garbage cans are great for storing bags of soil and fertilizer. Drill some holes in
    the bottom so that the nutrients in the soil or fertilizer can “breathe.” Otherwise, they’ll give a foul
    smell.
